Saccharide Isomerate & Sodium Citrate [PENTAVITIN®]

Derived from wheat and 100% natural with NATRUE certification—a non-profit organisation that provides certification guaranteeing the ingredient is genuinely natural. NATRUE also guarantees the ingredient is Soil Association approved and not tested on animals. Both ECOCERT approved and preservative free, PENTAVITIN® is a unique active ingredient that repairs the scalp barrier, soothes irritation and provides deep hydration.

Saccharum Officianarium [Sugar Cane]

These finely-ground sugar granules, derived from the sugar cane plant, assist in gentle mechanical exfoliation. Sugar is also a natural humectant, drawing in moisture from the environment to hydrate and moisturise.

Silica

Silica is a mineral found naturally in sandstone, clay, and granite, as well as the parts of some plants. Silica gel is edible and widely used in the pharmaceutical industry to “bulk out” medications and supplements. A high performance resurfacing compound, it is the ingredient of choice for micro peels and micro dermabrasion due to its small micron size, eliminating the risk of over-exfoliation or capillary damage in skin.

Simmondsia Chinensis [Jojoba] Seed Oil

Derived from the seeds of a desert shrub native to Southern Arizona, Southern California, and Northwestern Mexico, Jojoba oil has excellent absorbency and skin compatibility. It is utilised by our cells more readily due to the fact it closely resembles our own natural sebum. It also possesses powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

Sodium Benzoate

Sodium benzoate occurs naturally in the plant world and has a long history of safe use as an effective and natural preservative in food and personal care.

Sodium Hyaluronate [and] 1,2-Hexanediol [and] Caprylyl Glycol

Derived from hyaluronic acid, Sodium Hyaluronate has a lower molecular weight than HA which means it is small enough to penetrate the epidermal layer, resulting in deeper hydration. It is an excellent moisturiser as it acts like a “moisture magnet”, with the ability to hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water. It also has the amazing ability to attract and bind water molecules, keeping collagen hydrated while plumping, softening and smoothing the skin. With age, the body’s ability to produce its own HA diminishes, therefore topical application helps replenish the skin.

Sodium Hydroxide

Sodium hydroxide is derived from salt water [brine] and manufactured by electrolysis. It is used in minute amounts in cosmetics to establish and retain the pH of a formula.

Sodium Lactate

Sodium Lactate is naturally derived from the fermentation of natural sugars. A natural humectant, it provides moisture and is also used to balance the pH of formulations.

Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate

Sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate is a water soluble, coconut derived, surfactant that also happens to be sulfate-free. Not to be confused with similar sounding sodium lauryl sulfate, this ingredient is an incredibly mild surfactant and is considered to be one of the safest on the planet.

Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate

Sodium stearoyl glutamate is a hypo allergenic amino acid produced from glutamic acid and plant [palm or coconut] fatty acids. With a pH similar to that of skin, sodium stearoyl glutamate is used in skincare as a very gentle, yet effective moisturiser or as an emulsifier, helping keep water and oil components evenly mixed.

Squalane [Olive] Fruit Oil

The molecular composition of squalane oil is so fine that it is immediately absorbed deep into the dermal layers of the skin, without leaving any oily residue. Olive squalane is a pure, botanically derived squalane produced by the hydrogenation of the squalene source in olive oil. It is a non-animal alternative to shark-derived squalane.

Stearic Acid

Stearic acid is obtained from naturally occurring fats and oils by saponifiying their triglycerides using hot water. It is an important component of stratum corneum lipids and used in formulations to protect the skin's natural barrier against water loss and support barrier function. It is found in cocoa butter, shea butter, and other vegetable fats, as well as animal tallow. Ours is sustainably sourced and RSPO certified.

Sugar Cane Extract

Restores the hair fibre’s natural pH balance and smoothes the cuticle structure, producing a glossy surface similar to virgin hair.

Superoxide Dismutase

Found in both the dermis and the epidermis, and key to the production of healthy skin building cells, superoxide dismutase is arguably the body’s most crucial antioxidant. It is engineered using biotechnology by feeding live yeast cells copper and zinc. This makes the enzymes exceptionally active and responsible for neutralising free radicals. Once cultured, the protein fraction of the cell extract containing superoxide dismutase is isolated and made into a concentrated form for special use in cosmecueticals. In its topical form, it may help to reduce facial wrinkles, scar tissue, heal wounds and burns, lighten dark or hyper-pigmentation, protect against harmful UV rays, and guard hair colour against solar damage.
