Xanthan Gum

Derived from the fermentation process of glucose, sucrose or lactose, the polysaccharide xanthan gum is used as a thickening agent in cosmetics. It outperforms artificial thickeners due to its ability to withstand humid conditions, reacts well with water and has smoothing properties.
