Discovered by the French in the 1850s and derived from the berries of the mountain ash tree, potassium sorbate is the potassium salt of sorbic acid. It is primarily used as a food preservative to inhibit moulds and yeasts in the like of cheese, wine, yogurt, dried meats and apple cider.

Naturally derived from corn glucose, or corn sugar, Propandiol is used in product formulation to give better spreadability, as well as enable certain ingredients to blend and effectively penetrate the skin.

Propolis extract is resinous mixture that honey bees produce by mixing saliva, beeswax and plant sap. Multiple academic studies have shown propolis to be highly antimicrobial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory; effectively working to heal and calm skin.
