The perfect cocktail for the weekend ahead: the Super-Tonic Bloody Mary. Our twist on the breakfast-time favourite includes refreshing celery and cucumber, along with an energising kick of cayenne pepper. While we opt for a neutral vodka in ours, feel free to substitute with gin, tequila or whatever is left in your ‘boos’ cabinet.
3 tbsp tomato paste
1/4 cabbage
4 sticks of celery
1/2 cucumber [cut into batons]
1 clove of garlic [optional]
Handful of fresh oregano
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Freshly ground pepper
Celtic sea salt
Good quality Vodka
Ice
Put all vegetables, garlic and oregano through a juicer.
Add tomato paste, vegetable juice, cayenne pepper, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and salt to blender.
Blend for 1—2 cycles till smooth.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Take two glasses, add ice and pour over vodka.
Pour over tomato mix, stir and taste.
Serve with mint sprigs or shiso leaves.
