Heal and warm your system from the inside-out with this dark brew that utilises three simple ingredients from your pantry. The hero ingredient for this tea is the immune-boosting fruit Elderberry that releases a glorious deep crimson colour, packed with antioxidants and vitamins, that helps to tame inflammation in the body and boost the immune system. Straight forward and adaptable, this stovetop recipe is set to become part of your medicinal arsenal.

Ingredients

3 tbsp dried or frozen elderberries
1 cinnamon stick
Mānuka honey, to taste
500ml [2 cups] of water


Place all ingredients [except Mānuka honey] into a pot and bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain into a cup and add honey to taste. Try not to sweeten the brew too much. Feel free to experiment with flavours — add ginger, orange slices or cardamom to change up the tea each time.
