Named after Mars, the Roman god of war, the month of March comes charged with great unrest — an opportunity to debate and take action, or march.
To march, in protest or celebration, is to move along in step with others. This month, we rally together our coven of wahine to help us build a list of recommendations for the autumn season that suggest slowing down, and gestures towards time for reflection.

[05] WELLNESS —
"Weaving herbs into the everyday. Herbs are a quiet yet potent way to support the mind and body. Weaving them into my routine — whether it’s chamomile tea to calm or growing culinary herbs to infuse my meals with more nutrients — helps me feel more centred, which is especially important in today’s fast-paced world."

[06] COVETING —
"My number one dream-gift to our whānau would be an Emile Drescher shelf for Hayes-Ānaru’s bedroom. He is 6-years-old and likes to make assemblages of precious keepsakes which include: crystals, shells, Lego sculptures and potions made with leaves and petals from our mara. His collections are often destroyed by Avery, his brother. I would love to give him a safe zone that Avery can’t reach and can function as an exhibition platform. Emile’s work is speckled throughout our whare - the shelf is perfect for young families developing their style. His materials are warm and his designs are timeless."

[07] BOOK —
The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Recommended by creative producer Hyeseon Jeong
[08] FILM —
The Last Showgirl directed by Gia Coppola and written by Kate Gersten.
"It encompasses all the glamour and magic of Old Vegas; the costumes, which are borrowed from an actual Vegas show, are rhinestones, pleated silk and feathers pitched against the harsh desert landscape and treasure filled interiors. The movie stars Pamela Anderson as a 57 year old showgirl dancer in the Razzle Dazzle that is closing after her 30 year career on stage. It's also a mother-daughter story and asks questions around success and sacrifice in motherhood."
