Acetic Acid [Apple Cider Vinegar]

Derived from the fermentation process of apples, acetic acid is an organic compound that corrects the hair's pH back to virgin state. When hair fibre’s pH is altered, it becomes damaged; the cuticle becomes raised, making hair strands snag on one another. Hair will also look matte, dull and lacklustre. This can be corrected by simply reversing the pH to make the surface smooth, ultra glossy and shiny.

Actinidia Deliciosa [Kiwi] Fruit Extract

Kiwifruit extract is high in Vitamin C, which helps fight the dark spots associated with sun damage and ageing and ensures skin looks more evenly toned. Along with this, it is rich in vitamin E, another powerhouse antioxidant that protects collagen and elastin proteins from free radical damage. It is also high in lutein, which possesses natural anti-inflammatory properties to soothe skin irritation and redness.

Adansonia Digitata [Baobab] Seed Oil

Derived from cold pressing the seed of the Baobab tree, Baobab oil is highly nourishing and soothing and excellent for treating psoriasis and eczema due to its high omega 3, 6, and 9 content. Lipid rich, it contains vitamins A, D, and F, which are essential for the rejuvenation and renewal of cell membranes. It also possesses high levels of vitamin E, which gives it superior antioxidant qualities to help fight ageing.

Alcohol

Denatured alcohol is commonly used in formulations as a penetration enhancer, solubiliser, astringent and antimicrobial. A controversial ingredient because when used in high doses, it can be very drying on the skin and hair, but in minute doses boosts the performance of active ingredients and helps disinfect the skin.

Alcohol Denat

Denatured alcohol is commonly used in formulations as a penetration enhancer, solubiliser, astringent and antimicrobial. A controversial ingredient because when used in high doses, it can be very drying on the skin and hair, but in minute doses boosts the performance of active ingredients and helps disinfect the skin.

Aloe Barbadensis [Aloe Vera] Leaf Juice

The ability of succulents like Aloe vera to survive harsh environments is due to their incredible capacity to hold moisture. They are also highly anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. Scientists have discovered over 200 nutritional substances in the Aloe vera leaf, including 20 minerals, 20 amino acids,12 vitamins, and active enzymes.

Alpha-Glucan & Glucosyl Ceramide

This ingredient combination is derived from the rice of the Hokkaido region in Japan. Ceramides are the main components of intercellular lipids that fill gaps in the outermost layer of the skin. They play an extremely important role in maintaining the skin’s barrier function and help to retain moisture. As we age, our ceramide production declines. The outer layer of the skin also experiences a reduction in ceramide during winter months and in the skin of dermatitis and eczema sufferers.

Alpha-Hydroxy Acid

Alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) helps to clear follicles from the excessive build up of dead cells, allowing more room for thicker hair growth. In addition, it maintains the natural pH of the hair and scalp, ensuring that hair proteins are kept hard and more resistant to breakage. Enjoy healthier hair with the use of Sans [ceuticals] Balancing Hair Wash, high in alpha-hydroxy acid.

Anhydroxylitol

Part of a patented complex called AQUAXYL™ - an innovative combination of plant sugars that boost hydration and strengthen the barrier function of the hair and skin. It also restores moisture at the heart of the cuticle.

Argania Spinosa [Argan] Oil

A traditional ingredient derived from the kernels of the argan tree, this oil contains high levels of antioxidants, vitamins A and E, and is rich in omega 3 and omega 6. This allows it to deliver potent antioxidant qualities while hydrating and healing the skin.

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is derived from ascorbic acid [vitamin C] and isopalmitic acid, resulting in a lipo-soluble form of Vitamin C. Being in oil form, it is readily absorbed into the active layers of the skin for increased efficacy and is much more stable.

It is high in antioxidants protecting the skin from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. It stimulates collagen production [a protein that maintains the skin's firmness and elasticity]. It inhibits melanin production, helping to lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation for a brighter, clearer complexion and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Avena Sativa [Oat] Kernel Extract

Oat Kernel extract helps strengthen the outer barrier of the skin, something often compromised in eczema and dermatitis sufferers. It is also anti-inflammatory and highly soothing, helping to reduce itching and calm the skin.
