Derived from the dried red stigmas of the Crocus sativus flower, saffron's magic runs deep; it elevates mood, matching the efficacy of standard antidepressants with significantly gentler side effects, improves sleep quality, and aids digestion.
We've chosen to include this potent herbal fragment because crocin [saffron's primary active compound] carries potent antioxidant properties and offers protection against both UVA and UVB rays, the key drivers of premature skin ageing. And we'll drink to that.
Ingredients
- Four to five saffron threads
Method
Crush the threads between your fingers and steep them in freshly boiled water.
Making our saffron tea is a slow, aromatic ritual. Brewing it on a gentle heat allows the threads to release their full flavor and colour.
Option to add spices: 1-2 crushed cardamom pods or a small pinch of dried rose petals.
